Anderson reportedly went to have a talk with an inmate who had been causing a lot of trouble for the other correctional officers. The inmate, B. H., during that moment presented a shiv and "slit her throat, mutilating the body with 28 stab wounds." The officer holding watch went to investigate and found the scene.

According to testimony, she lost track of her composure and went on to beat the inmate aggressively. Though several sources deny this, saying it was self defense. The officer in question, A. V. S., will later face an investigation for her actions and has been placed on off duty for the time being.

Anderson reportedly "died bravely" and was seen by other officers as "stern, but with her heart on the right place. Someone who wanted the best for everyone. While not the most social person, she was a hard worker."

What happens to B. H. is unknown, but charges for murder of a lawful officer have been filed. She currently resides in the medbay of HMP Thornridge under heavy security.
